What you'll need
- A local books-to-prisons project — search that phrase plus your city
- Nothing else. They supply the books, tape, and packing rules
- Two hours you'd have spent on a screen
Pitfalls
- Every prison bans different things. Follow their rules sheet exactly or the package gets rejected.
- Try to match the actual request. A man asking for a GED book doesn't want a novel.
- Read the letters. That's the part that changes you, not the packing.
