Be the Standing Ride to Meetings
Transportation is one of the top relapse triggers there is. A standing Tuesday pickup, same time every week, is sobriety infrastructure.
What you'll need
- One person, one meeting, one recurring calendar block
- Their address and a habit of texting when you're five minutes out
Pitfalls
- Don't preach in the car. Talk about the game, or say nothing at all.
- If they're not ready when you arrive, wait ten minutes. Then go and come back next week anyway.
- Find a backup driver before you take a vacation. A missed week is a real risk, not an inconvenience.
