What you'll need
- A $25 gas card
- A handful of small bills and quarters for hospital parking
- A decent thermos and a bag of their preferred coffee or tea
- Protein bars and real snacks
- A long phone cable and a wall block
- A crossword or puzzle book for the waiting room
Pitfalls
- Address the note to the caregiver by name — being seen is half the kit.
- Don't ask for a treatment update in the note. Zero-obligation gifts only.
