What you'll need
- One reliable dish you can produce on two days' notice
- An apron and a willingness to run the kitchen side
Pitfalls
- The serving shift matters as much as the cooking — someone has to refill the tea while the family receives friends.
- Stay in the background. This is catering as ministry: present, warm, invisible.
- Say yes even when you didn't know the deceased. Especially then — small funerals need the brigade most.
