Volunteer at Night to Shine
The Tim Tebow Foundation runs a prom for people with special needs every February, at hundreds of churches. Somebody has to park cars, serve dinner, and dance.
What you'll need
- The host church nearest you, found at timtebowfoundation.org in the fall
- A background check, done in December, because they fill up
- Shoes you can stand in for five hours
Pitfalls
- Sign up early. Slots close by January in most cities.
- Take the unglamorous job. Parking, coat check, and cleanup are the ones nobody claims.
- Dance. Standing along the wall being helpful is not what the night is for.
