Texting Guide — by 45 Book Summaries
One number runs all four programs, and you steer every one of them by text. No login, no form, no app. Here's every word it understands.
Text
Forget all of this and text MENU — you'll get the short list back, built around the programs you're actually in.
Name the program, say what you want, add the value. That's it:
GRATITUDE TIME 7am
Leave the program name off and it applies to whatever you're running, so plain PROFILE shows all of it and plain PAUSE holds all of it. Case doesn't matter. Neither does punctuation.
| Verb | What it does |
|---|---|
| PROFILE | Whatβs set, and where you are in it |
| NOW | Send this weekβs or todayβs right away |
| UPDATE | Change one setting β see each program below |
| TIME | Move the send hour (the two daily programs) |
| SKIP | Sit out the next one |
| PAUSE | Hold it and keep your place |
| RESUME | Pick it back up |
| RESTART | Start the run over (the two daily programs) |
| OFF | Leave this one program, keep the others |
| Text this | What happens |
|---|---|
| MENU | The short list of what you can text, built around the programs youβre actually in. |
| PROFILE | Every program youβre in. In just one? The whole record for it β every setting, and whatβs still blank. |
| PAUSE | Holds everything. Nothing sends until you text RESUME. Your place is saved. |
| RESUME | Starts it all back up, picking up where you left off. |
| HELP | The carrier help reply: who we are, how to reach a person. |
| STOP | Ends every message from this number. One confirmation, then silence. |
| START | Turns texts back on after a STOP. |
One prompt a day for thirty days. Text back three good things and you get a short reflection.
| Text this | What happens |
|---|---|
| GRATITUDE | Where you are in the thirty days, plus what you can text. |
| GRATITUDE PROFILE | Everything saved about you here, and how to change any of it. |
| GRATITUDE TIME 7am | Moves the daily prompt. Any format works β 7am, 8:30pm, 19:00. Add a zone if we guessed wrong: TIME 7am ET. Text TIME on its own and weβll ask what time you want. |
| GRATITUDE NOW | Sends todayβs prompt right now instead of waiting. The one that was coming wonβt double up. |
| GRATITUDE SKIP | Skips the next prompt. Nothing else moves, and you donβt lose a day. |
| GRATITUDE PAUSE | Stops the prompts and holds your place. |
| GRATITUDE RESUME | Picks the run back up at the day you were on. Also the fix if prompts quietly stopped arriving. |
| GRATITUDE RECAP | Sends a recap of your last few entries right now, instead of waiting for the weekly one. |
| GRATITUDE RESTART | Back to day 1 with thirty fresh prompts. Your old entries stay put. |
| GRATITUDE OFF | Leaves this program only. Your other texts keep coming. Plain STOP ends every program at once. |
| Field | What it sets | Example |
|---|---|---|
| TIME | When the daily prompt lands | GRATITUDE UPDATE TIME 7am |
| NAME | What we call you | GRATITUDE UPDATE NAME Alex |

Real answers start with command words all the time. "Time with my kids" is a gratitude entry. "Menu planning finally clicked" is a gratitude entry. So a command word on its own only counts as a command when it's the whole message, or when a program name comes first.
When something's genuinely ambiguous, we ask instead of guessing. And if a command doesn't take, nothing changes — you'll get a reply telling you what shape it wanted.
These programs are free. Message and data rates may apply. Each program is a separate sign-up — joining one is never joining another. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service, and every tool on this site works in full without a phone number.
